Millions of people that live in Russia suffer from a deep suffocating guilt.

They show their protest against the war participating in demonstrations across more than 140 Russian cities. But there have been numerous reports of excessive force being used against protesters and use of stun guns and truncheons to disperse those gathered. As it is common in Russia, there have been heavy fines and serious charges of those involved in the protests In  past week, new laws have been approved in Russia which will punish civilians who spread ‘fake news’. This means, that saying anything that contradicts what officials say about events or provides alternative accounts of them can result in jail time!

The politician who was once Russia’s most famous opposition figure is now in jail, his organizations have been designated as “extremist groups” and removed from formal political landscape. Navalny sacrificed himself  for this country. 

If majority of Russian people support the government and the war, they should expect the time of “Soviet Union Mass repressions” back. Russia should definitely expect the deepest social, economical, political and humanitarian crisis. It has already started. And the most destructive effect of the war is destroying the society and establishing life behind the “iron curtain”.

One of the assistants to Putin said that “Russia’s very existence is at stake”, and it is understandable to majority of people all over the world that the longer war lasts the bigger damage to Russia will be.
